rite, if i try and explain the lay out of my car can sum 1 tell me wat ive dun wron.

to start with,
its a b18ft on an L reg.

in a renault 5 gt turbo

the ecu's are original

vacume pipe wise, the 2 that used to go to the evap system are bloked of, and the 3rd im using as a port for a boost guage.

on the throtle body: 1 before buterfly is bloked off, an the other goes to the blak ecu. an another goes to the blak thing on the idle control valve

on the boost solenoid. 1 goes to compressor housing another goes to actuator. an the litle 1 that i asume is a bleed goes to atmosphere.


i have all my leads the rite way ( this time lol)
and have had the timing cheked.

at a glance and on a multi meter the water temp sensor that feeds the ecu is within tolerence.

the lambda sensor gets warm wen ignition is switched on, an the signal wire is connected

it starts an idles fine and performs well wen warm ish. BUT wen its get hotter say 50 degreesc celcius, it will not let me boost.

i dnt know wat boost its running, as my boost guage is fooked an reeds neg 10 wen car is off, dnt think ive seen it go past 5 psi

all boost circuit is good no leasks!
an im using a sytec fuel pump wich will comfortably hold 139 psi

presure in fuell rail is 55psi

i hope thats anougth info for some 1 to give me a bit of info wat to change check ect

I'd get a boost gauge so you can see what boost you are getting and if you are over boosting the engine.

that supposed "atmosphere" pipe from the bost solenoid doesnt sound right to me, should go to something. ecu is detecting this fault and stopping the turbo from boosting.

will have a look on my 440t engine as soon as it has stoped raining and see where it should go for you

clear goes to stock boost solenoid.

Top to turbo post union which is located in the alloy exit of the turbo
Middle goes to turbo actuator
Bottom CLEAR pipe which you have not connected

this boost solenoid must b the bit ive messed up

as it stands all my vac pipes r blue so colours dnt help im afraid

the solenoid has 3 ports

1 to turbo compressor
1 to actuator

an 1 thats ment to go bak to the original intake pipes.

i must have thease mixed up,

does any 1 have a pik so i cud look at wat yr all trying to explain

First off have you got the solenoid the correct way up?

yup thats the same way up as i have it.

the top port is the 1 i have nout going to

the botom 2 r the 1s i have going to snail an actuator.

How tight is the nut holding the knock sensor on? shold be around 8lbs

:hopping: havnt cheked that yet but wil do tanite. I took it out for a large dose of abuse last nite and was wel happy.
But tnday on way to wrk down motorway it didnt want to go past 4k.

Sounds like it's running very rich. Check that sensor wires are right way around!

i think ive sused it.

i replaced the temp sencor that feeds the ecu.

an now she seems happy yay

now for the ecu to b sorted my t25 an crank up the boost.

im gona aim for 200 bhp

my 5 only weighs 580kg so power to weight shud b intresting

the in side is a tad diferent to

anover quik question guys,

its only running 6 psi so isnt all that great at the moment. wat shud it be running?

and were do i put a mbc in between the snail and actuator??

an how much can i turn it up on standard injectord an ecu.



oh an how much if ne 1 knows is omex 600?

6 psi is standard boost on these engines, search the forum for mbc and it will tell you maximum boost the ecu can cope with, but be carful not to over bost it, or the ecu will cut in it's saftey overides (and you will be bunny hopping down the road) and could cause damage
