Oil Cooler ?

Post by mmcare00 » Thu Jul 31, 2008 10:16 pm

Has anyone ever fitted an oil cooler to a standard 1.7 non turbo?

I'm considering it, as mine seems to run much smoother before the engine gets hot. 'Normal' running temp for the oil seems to be circa 100-115 degrees, but the engine is much quieter (inside the car) before it heats up that far.

Any thoughts?

Cheers
Martin

don't let your oil get to cold. As it is as bad as letting it get to hot. I remember from somewhere that the best temp for oil is about 80-90 degrees C. I have had some tougths about the olicooler. Still haven´t done it :)
