Next step after richmod?

Hi there,

My Turbo is Richmodded and it runs without problems, but I want a little more Power. Especially in high rev´s to get a wider power-band.

What´s the next step?
Is the little Turbo on its absolute limit?

I dont want a monster, only a wider powerband.

greetings Daniel

i've just grafted a T25 from a SAAB into the 5, that seems to work well.

Bigger injectors? 3 bar MAF? Hybrid turbo? The list is endless almost!

Do a bit of reading in the Tuning and Tweaking part of the forum and you'll see hundreds of ideas! :D

Would the car be more powerfull only with bigger injectors? I dont think so, or am I wrong?

I would like a running package.
For example;
-t25 from car xy
-injectors from car xy
-Sparkplugs xy

It is not important for me to have 200hp, I only need a little more in high rpm.

Whats with the actuator length on the wastegate,
or use MBC? Anyone tried with richmod?

a bit OT, but how about this turbo on a richmod? A Garrett T25G from nissan CA20DET or something like that.

0.80 A/R might be OTT. I think the t2 is 0.45

My t25 is 0.45 too i think.

let me know what you find out. As I understand on nissans 1,8l it gives boost of 0,9 bar @ 2800 rpm

Ahh yes, its a measure of restrictiveness of the exhaust manifold...thus your 0.8 will have more top end but more lag and less low rpm grunt than my 0.45.

Should work fine?

hmmm, nice :) have read about it a bit, and found out the T25 and the T25G are almost the same. They have the t2 center. The same kind of colds ide, but the ehaust side on 25G is larger. And thats the main difference :D So the T25 dies at some point the T25g goes longer.

the best is to try it i think. If it doesn't work, I can always resell it? Talkeed to the seller, and as his a nissan nut the T25G is good on 1.6-1.8 nissan engines :)

that turbo is fine, should boost bout 3000. its a full t25, a smalll version to wat i run.
my turbo has a .82 exhaust housing with a 60trim t3 housing, that would be 80 trim if it was a full T25 ;)
i guess thats a .49 exhaust housing, even a .64 would do but a bit too laggy for most people on this site.
you may want a cam to help it rev a bit better at top end. may aswell run boost to bout 20psi on it too :)

I think gona leave it to 0,9 bar, as the richmod gives it. And I like when the turbo gets up and runing on high revs and giving good power there. For everyday driving you can use the lower rev range and just cruise along + the lag gives the car some traction an heavy launches like a traction control as the 480 is FWD :)

Correct me if Im wrong but a t2 at 0,9 bar will give the same power as a t25 at 0,9 bar.
Perhaps it flows better so a t25 will produce more HP, but Im not entirely sure.

if the air comes out hotter, which it will, its less dense = less power.
