after a pause in 480 tuning, i started to consider again the "rocket" in my mind, so, i bought a wideband controller and sensor from innovate motorsport

Is this a good bit of kit to start with?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=005

I've just realised that my lil' bro knows what he's talking about when it comes to chip programming and the step-father has been doing it for about 30yrs!

Any software suggestions? We should be able to work the rest out between us.

I have a B20f and an 87' non cat es cam to play with. 198 is hospitalised at present so thinking of purchasing 480 number 2!

Turbo envy has got the better of me at last

Hi guys,
any chanses of sharing with me the ignition map size and start address for n/a 1.7l engine?

I have recently rebuild the B18EP with some potring/polishing, modified valves, F7P/R flywheel and now I am getting ready to swap my stock siemens ecu with MS2. The above data is all I need to proceed with the project.

Thank you in advance

What kind of data you need?
I am going to use MS2 chip on V3 board, but I haven't seen the knock sensor input yet. I'll give more updates after I get home and start the tnstalation.
Sort out what?

wont the knock sensor sort the timing out automatically? do you know the fuel tables for the stock ecu, or would a little more improve anything-mines a pre 91 so the emmisions arent as tight. are you going to tune it with a wide band and laptop.

Hi,
yust came to the part of knock input... MS2 has the knock input!
That information is something you have to deal with, and tell to MS what to do when it hears your engine knocking.
So, it is not automatic, it is up to you.

I do have ecus for B18E, B18EP, B16F, B18EF, and I can read the eproms but I do not know the size and location of maps.
So, the most wanted data for me is ignition carta (map). The fuel can be altered easyer than ignition. So it should not be a big deal.

My plan is to make car moving on MS, do what is possible, and them go to dyno tuning.
Since I am running aormal aspirated I would go with normal O2 sensor for now, but will switch it for wide when I prepare B18FT...

do you know where abouts the overrun rpm is stored in the ecu, where the injectors are turned off on the overun. i hate the jolt i get when i press the throttle and the injectors turn back on. also id like to raise the tickover very slightly. there doesnt seem to be much info on maps anywhere. what kind of eeprom reader have you got? is it home made?

I have no idea what is contained in our eeprom. Neither the map size and loccation. All I could tell you would be guessing, and of no help. :(

edit: before I had willem but I gave it to a friend. I still use it when I need it.

its a long shot but could you not read the eprom and make a graph of the results and see if anything resembles a map. i would think its quite likely that they will be in ordered memory locations.

It is still a lot of guessing...
I had a vission of some good old Volvo forum with some ET genious cracking EGU technicians... ha ha ha :P
I'll try that method when I came back home.

i suppose that wasnt much use to you, + ive just remembered the ignition map is 3 dimensional i think.

To be honest, I haven't even lucked at that.
I'm out on job for other 3 weeks.

The map is defined with its size, like 12x12 fields, and in each field is a number which is representing the timing advance (or fuel).
So, you are right, it is 3D, but I do not know any dimension.
If a good soul could share map size with us....
