If you think of it as a street racer car, you will be perpetually dissapointed, however if you think of it as the Rare, unusual classic that it is, you will feel much happier about owning one. Lets face it, without spending £1000's the 480 is never going to be a rocket ship. If you want to have a street Racer, where you can get people (loose definition) going ooh and ahhh at your Spoiler and Big exhaust, just buy another car, as this is not the philosophy of the 480.
Just my opinion.

I tested an induction on my turbo and the result was a loss of torque in low RPm and an increase in high revs wich means a bit more top speed. Anyway it doenst work at all if u dont protect the filter from the engine heat. Try to make a little "box" covered with some heat resistent material below the filter (could be alluminium tape or something) and make cold air from outside flow directly to the admission - in theory colder air means more O2 wich means better combustion. U'll not gain power (at least not more then 1 or 2 hp i supose) but the car will seam a bit more loosed even tough after a power test we find out it runned a lot better on a box filter (think this is the name it gives to a filter that fits the standard admission), at least i dont have to stand for the annoying noise it makes on high revs and i supose non-turbo is even lowder...

if you get 17s you will lose aceleration get smaller wheels so you have loads of acceleration and lower top speed.kirsty_2003 wrote:hmmm i was thinking of a turbo.... its not much more higher for the insurance
basically the only thing i want to change on my car is the alloys.... want some 17s and make it more powerful. just slighty does that make me a girl racer?
J Reg 92, 480 turbo, twin tone grey, dump valve, incar boost control running with dbs mbc, pipercross induction kit and some silicon hoses.

I always wonder how the CEM/Infocentre will handle/calculate thisdoug_480_turbo wrote:if you get 17s you will lose aceleration get smaller wheels so you have loads of acceleration and lower top speed.
I mean, in case of larger wheels, do one get different calculations regarding
AVG fuelconsumption because of lower rev's?

this is what I always say.
(however my car was "haas" chipped, and i never had any complaints about it. )
it looks fast as standard, don't over do it. keep modifications modest
this car has a sertain class, its needs no extra's. No overkill !
luck,

hmmm faster acceleration would be nice but i dont like my standard alloys. they are shit
besides the fact when i first passed my driving test, i couldnty get used to driving it and have so kerbed my alloys typical woman driver. i dont do it now.
i want bigger alloys coz they will look nice i probaly will only end up getting 15s, maybe 16s depending on price/tyres etc.
