I have to admit, we fall into the category of having it (mostly) done for us on the cars, but we are more than old enough to have an entirely different attitude. Our pedantic garage man isn't cheap, our new bodyshop is anything but cheap, and that's why we use them - our cars are long-term and we are getting what we've paid for. We really appreciate it and are very thankful to be able to afford it after a lifetime of scrimping and making do. Things seem to be very different for the youngsters, but then every generation says that when they get to our age
