Next weekend is a celebration of the very tasty mollusc in Yerseke, Zeeland in the Netherlands.
300 mile round trip from Calais or 150 mile round trip from The Hook.
On Sunday (maybe Friday & Saturday, too - check the website) - eat a free punnet (or two), of freshly-cooked mussels then enjoy a trip (free again) around the Oostershelde on a mussel-boat.
Get the Skipper to explain the workings of mussel-collecting - he does it all from the bridge.
A lovely afternoon and well worth a weekend visit; weather permitting.

The pronunciation of Yerseke will probably give some trouble to you lot, it is "earseke" :)
I have no plans to go there, but I did check the weather forecast, which is a sunny 23-24 degrees.
