My first Wild Wedge: K Reg Two Tone in Salibury (A338 Cathedral Close)

On the way back from a hospital run for my Mother, I was stunned to see my first Ever 480 on the road (that wasn't anything to do with the club or in Bosnia)

I was approaching the Cathedral Close roundabout when going the other was a 1992 480 Two Tone, K616 *** something, is it anyone we know?
I didn't get the rest of the number as it was quick, but I would have been very hard for him to not notice me, even though there was seemingly no response to my frantic waves. The driver appeared to be a middle aged man with grey hair and dark, thick rimmed glasses, heading over the River Avon.

I am still slightly stunned, I thought the chances of me seeing a 480, let alone a TT, on the roads these days were negligible (unless you rigged the system and arranged it with a club member that is  )

nice spot! I've never seen another 480 in my life (apart from mine of course) not even at a car show :(
Are you sure it wasn't K515LEX? There's a picture of it on flickr. Was in a sorry state when the pictures were taken, but is a 2.0 TT, which adds to the rarity ;)

It is possible but it looked cleaner than that one, granted I didn't get a great look at it

Forget what I just said. Just looked up K515LEX and it’s untaxed and the MOTs about to run out (probably the end of that car considering the state of it). So unless the driver is very naughty I don’t think that’s the one you saw.

Well done on the spot Ben, it's so rare to see another one now it's quite exciting when it happens isn't it.

Another possibility from the Rare Editions register is K618 ???, spotted on here in 2018 in Berkshire but again, not a good enough look to get the end of the reg.

That might have been it, although if there was a string of incremental numbers then it could be one from the same series.

A dear friend of mine in Salisbury said he used to see a Two Tone everyday on his school run out to Devizes, which must be a fun commute on those roads over the plains
