So sad to see this advertised as a cat S write off, I'm hoping it will be saved. Maybe my contact who specialises in restoring Celebrations will take it on.

I think with deformed boot floor and sides creased that needs to go in the bin and not back on the road. I see it had ‎a tow bar fitted which is probably why the damage is so bad. The forces would have been transferred to the boot floor rather than the bumper as intended by design. ‎

Sad, yes, but the seller is dreaming if they think they'll get £800 for it. Unfortunately, scrap value is about £100-150.

Very sad to see - looks as if it was in good nick before someone redesigned it

Sadly, though, I agree with James that no-one is going to part with £800 for that as it stands. The owner would do better to sell t as parts since there is clearly a lot it could donate.

Can't resist observing, though, that the car was SORN and apparently had no MOT since May 2017, in which case what was it doing on the road to get shunted?

maybe a bit of both as the load HAS transferred across the whole of the beam. . .

the bumper looks evenly crushed? other than the towbar area?

worth a punt if close by and had some 'straightening' hydraulic set-up, but not to sell, only worth it for 'personal use', i'd chance £800 if chassis etc was all clean and fresh . . .

Looking at it realistically....

£800 buys you a LOT of good parts.

Full leather
Rear lights
Roller cover

If you were being *really* unscrupulous, you'd look for another storm grey celebration and still have "number 1/480" on the road.

That is a real shame, If anyone did feel brave I have a shell which could donate body panels for the job.

Checking up on a Cat S.

"A Cat S car is one which has sustained structural damage during a crash – think items such as chassis and suspension. While the car can safely be repaired and put back on the road, Cat S cars must be re-registered with the DVLA before being put back on the road."

Would be a lot of hoops for someone to go through to rebuild, would be a great project for a college though.

Such a shame....

Wasn't it rumoured that the last 480 celebration had been scrapped ??

As I was after the engine I am of course devastated to hear of 408/1's survival ;-(
