Two 480s on Dartmoor: Vase Green and White

When you spot a 480 and wonder if it's someone from the forum: ask it here! One rule: do NOT post registration plates.

Two 480s on Dartmoor: Vase Green and White

Post by Macaroon » Sat Sep 06, 2008 11:02 pm

Two 480s on Dartmoor, five minutes apart - can this be a coincidence?

Spotted on Friday afternoon, 5th September, a dark green metallic closely followed by a White 480 heading south through Dartmoor on the A382.

I was driving a heavily laden Two Tone heading north towards the A30 and flashed both cars wildly but neither responded. Is there a little 480 community down there on the moors?

Also, hello to the guy who came and talked to me in Launceston Tesco car park - hope you got your rear lights sealed before the downpours.
Tonee: '93 Two Tone. High mileage but nice 'n' tidy.
Sheba: '91 ES Paris Special. Love that leather, baby. Scrapped and used as a spares car.

Darn it! I was on Dartmoor about 3 weeks ago, didn't see one.
However I did spot a White one with black bumpers in the Trago Mills car park, at Bovey Tracey

There are a number of mechanical devices which increase sexual arousal, particularly in women. Chief among these is the Volvo 480 ;)

I posted it on here, couldn't remember the exact reg, but details are:
Spotted White 480 with black bumpers parked up in the Collection/Garden Centre area at Trago Mills near Newton Abbot. Can't remember the exact plate, but had DAD in it, and a "Catalyser" badge.

I'm pretty sure the white one didn't have black bumpers - though I do recall thinking after we'd passed that the was something a bit odd about it: it looked a bit dirty or rusty or something. So, maybe. It was raining.

As for the green one - that's the right colour but I couldn't say whether it was a GT - it had a spoiler tho. I didn't catch the reg. We came pretty much head on, so I couldn't see the alloys and I was just flashing my lights, washing my windscreen (natch) and shouting excitedly at my girlfriend.

Strange that two 480s should be heading in the same direction about 5 mins apart on Dartmoor.

The Volvos of the Baskerville's maybe? :scared:
