The next step is to remove the metal bracket that holds the microswitch. If I remember correctly then all elements detach.

It is not so easy
, send a PM to Arthuy , he did this . Look closer to my picture , I removed a small screw at the bottom , but can`t move a yellow casing aside , because of aluminum "pipe" which goes from inside to outside , at the end of that "pipe" is a rubber ring . So I think , the only way is to remove /but how ? / that pipe , outside !

I knew I should have took some more photos.
The yellow metal plate holds the alloy barrel in place. It is just a push fit, you need to lever it off, a long flat screw driver usually works.
Looks like you still have the switch fitted, pull that off too. The lock comes out from the outside.
If you are going to reuse the lock you need to save the little brass spring and ball bearing.
I will try and get some photos next time I am at the spares car.

Do these help?
Remove the little screw and prise the retaining clip off.
Once this is off the lock will come out, might be stuck with age but will come out.

Hallelujah
Did it today , my mistake was , I tried to move yellow casing to the left / looking from inside the car / ,it must go to the right side ! Microswitch holds a alloy barrel , after removing it all is free and barrel goes outside .
