OK folks finally got around to doing this..... :bored:

1. Remove MAF meter....
2. Check resistance between pins 1 and 6

3. Yes that's 1 and 6, not 2 and 6 shown in link above

4. Remove tamper proof cap.....

5. Turn clockwise to increase CO....in my case two turns to the right gave a 141 ohm increase to 541, so I left that as my final value.

Cheers!

Copied from another thread by GJ mod as it is pertinent to the how to.

"There are two basic settings, measured with an Ohm-meter between connector pins 2 and 6. The numbers are indicated in very small print above the connector. The values are about 320Ω without and 530Ω with modification of the ECU.
Now the car, at low revs, in high gear and very easy on the throttle, should easily accelerate without any protest. If not, adjust, mostly by ½ turn to the right, repeated until the desired effect is achieved. Remember your turns, in case of MOT you may have to return to basics.
This in no way has any negative influence on the overall fuel consumption. It only has an effect on idle and driving under very low load and will only be effective when the car is in good condition. So if your fuel consumption is excessive you will have to check on other things, like having the right combination of ECU's, the ECU's, MAF and injectors being in good condition, fuel pressure, you name it."

I have selected the posts and copied into the how threads as this subject comes up at regular intervals .

Robou noticed the advise to measure between pins 1&6. In his manual for the mod and on the forum he tells people to measure between 2&6, with a reason.
There are two types of MAF out there, part# ending with 021 or 007. Each may have different connections to the outside world. Mostly pins 1,2 and 3 are internally shorted, but pin 2 is always connected to the correct output of the electronics inside. This is why he advises to measure from pin 2.
Another thing which may mislead readers is the picture in which the meter says 21.57. The probes are connected to pins 1 and 5, not 2 and 6 as suggested.

lol and I thought I was clearing things up with my thread  I must have had the thing upsidedown - from your comments pin 6 must be closest to the adjusment screw, rather than at the other end :tomato:

the final measurement at 541 ohms was taken from the two outside pins...I will check again plus compare with the MAF on the Orange Blossom Special just in case....thanks Jim

OK, try again, the below picture should replace point 3.

In my case pins 1 & 6 gave the same reading as 2 & 6, but probably best to follow Jim's advice and use 2 & 6...with 6 being closest to the adjustment screw!
