Probably; in fact defo! I popped EVA motor on and exactly the same at least I have a car to compare with.
any way it's fixed now with a bit of lateral thinking . .. . . .
until the wiper/high level light fails then I'll just leave well alone, I've been into that flexible at top of hinge before and its a real PITA
It transpires that the green wire is the supply to the motor and the red is 'LIVE' when igniton s on so it's the supply to get the wiper to park.
now where else is there a live supply at boot hatch? of course the high level brake light!
but if linked direct to the brake light then brake light would also come on when wiper in operation
a diode was clearly needed an 'as it happens' I had a full wave rectifier from an old 6V transformer (actually from part of control system that was on some gas burners at Landor Cartons, when they dumped the burners I kept the 'useful-parts', NB left there in 1990 )
in effect the AC line was linked to the brake light and the + linked to the red wire.
Whilst in intermittant mode it just stops where it feels like and doesn't really bother me. after turn off it stops 'anywhere' but each time press brake pedal it moves towards 'park'
same effect when wash rear window and providing wiper is off before stop the car it will always end up 'parked' as a few seconds on brake pedal lets it slowly run home slower a sthe rectifier has about 500 -600 ohm resistance
I was awffy impressed with my work-around and proves more than one way to skin a cat
