As is customary, one job rushed before a meet!

Slightly wonkier than I was trying for so had to hack about a little at the end.

Didn’t really want to take this out for its first trip in snow, slush and salt but was also very happy to dig it out and use it as it was intended early this morning.

well they are meant to be used!!!

Amanda ran the last one year in year out, it did have winter tyres on rear for summer, then shifted to front for frosty weather, sadly the studded M&S from the SS1 wouldn't fit over the discs :-(

mind you running it all year did jigger the body work and meant serious repairs to the chassis of the SS1, still got th elatter, Fraser might still have the former

Hi James - Just discovered this thread, and not had time to read it all! Great job you've done there, it looks stunning in bright red. I would have preferred a brighter colour than grey on my car, but beggars can't be choosers.

Thanks for all your advice earlier in the year regarding my car. Unfortunately health issues have rather curtailed much further progress, and I am hoping that David Walker can fix a few more things for me in the new year.

As your car is even older than mine, I wondered if you had checked the resistance on the air and coolant sensors, to be sure if yours had low resistance PTC or high resistance NTC sensors? It would be interesting to know. Mine are NTC, and I was on the point of buying some sensors from a similar age car being scrapped, until we found they were also NTC. So I remain a bit sceptical about PTC sensors being fitted to early cars.

Keep up the good work! Regards - Dave Kitson

Hey Dave,

Yeah, sorry I did rather forget to measure any resistances for you. In my case, its new baby, new house and now new job has kept me away from the 480. Good luck with getting yours going correctly. I'm pretty sure Volvo did fit the PTC sensors but only to very early ones. I think my coolant temperature sensor isn't working quite right now as it doesn't idle high when cold
