Funny you mention it, but that’s actually happened to me with my old 850.
Stopped by the police one evening, got out, officer said “it’s not often we stop a Volvo with a tail light out”
“Ah, I replied, that will be two bulbs out then”
“No, just the one”
“No, the bulb failure light on the dash must have failed too!”
We both checked, and it had. He sent me on my way as he could see I wasn’t going to put up with either being out!
