Well Halloween is coming up so no doubt I will need to break out the V for Vendetta costume again :D

Image

From last Halloween, my attempt at an Ash Williams silhouette (Evil Dead):

Image

The picture at start of the thread is the best sketch of Pollution I could find, complete with crown (Revelations 6:2). I'm not religious, I just liked the book Good Omens by Terry Pratchett. In the book is a character called Pollution, a modern take on Pestilence - one of the Four Horsemen.

I gave the car this name after I jumped out of it once and some rubbish jumped out with me and blew around in the wind - similar to the part in the above mentioned book:

They danced around his feet like excited children, then fell exhausted to the floor

I really should clean her out more regularly lol. Plus my job is to move from place to place working in an industry that causes pollution both directly and indirectly.......heigh ho......all natural products tho :D

All good mate cheers, glad you got the V5 through eventually. Between mine and your fleets we must have a department dedicated to us in the DVLA. A modification......? So you found me out, that I put a non-turbo Renault 5 1.4 engine in there while you weren't looking!! :D

I would imagine the DVLA are sick of me......not long back some kind person forged my signature on a V5 and they accepted it, so I gave them hell. Not much else they could of done I guess but anyway I was a bit annoyed to say the least. Eventually I got a copy of the forged document from them and used it to best effect :D

Good to have it back! Got some bulbs for the DRLs today (not LEDs just 21/4 watt cheapo things). One side went in fine, other side had totally different bulb holder :D

Replaced a fog light bulb today....what a PITA to get to, access from below, had to call into a garage with an inspection pit - the lower lip on the front bumper really restricts access

H3 bulb 55w by the way, single pin with wire plug....I was told not to touch the bulb, here's the old one:

Oh well, I'll keep looking!

Meanwhile, here's a couple of pics from Pollution's holiday in Manchester :)

Small update...

Took Pollution out for a spin after it had been stood for a while. Tyre n/s/f was flat but held pressure when I pumped it up, brakes binding a little. Also offside headlight was out, so took the headlight off, replaced the bulb and refitted the headlight & surround. Then realised the alignment was out (garage door method) so, back to the start - surround off again to adjust.

After a little rinse...

Still scrubs up well that, Matey :)

Did you ever get to the bottom of that overboosting issue?
Think I gave you a replacement BCS, can't remember now.

I think I better start updating this again.......is this what happens when you're a 480 owner?? You wave the car off, sulk for a few days then get on with your life......then much later the 480 reappears like a long buried family pet, scratching at your door & covered in soil....!!?

You've buried this one twice now and it keeps coming back to haunt you.

Apparently, the volvo box fits in a 5, in theory it should work the other way around.

If not, I've got a big hammer ;)

You need to update your sig.
Again.

I'm hoping so mate, even the speedo connection looks similar. Plan B is the 440 turbo lump but will try to avoid breaking that (unless it turns out to be a dog). Stand by with the big hammer pls....
