Definitely be putting them back on don't you worry! But Black or Dark Red? :?

I have thought about 309 GTis James but they are quite ugly imo! But they're good value and a bit bigger so we'll see, it all depends what pops up locally really if I do indeed end up selling her!

I guess not the most beautiful cars but then again I'm no judge. My idea of a nice looking car stopped at the Renault 11's.

If you put red lettering on the back I am sure you will quickly take them off again :) I'm just waiting for you to decide to put the original ones back on :)

309 is a GOOOOOOD call!

Much rarer than the 205, and quite pretty IMO.

Oh, definitely black Dave! ;)

The 309 is bloody pig ugly imo! I'd still have one though ;)

I've been doing a lot of thinking and checking insurance etc and it does seem a change of Vehicle may be more difficult than I hoped. Basically, anything I'm looking at will increase my premium except for dull little thing obviously! A 1.6 E30 for example adds over £100 to my deal! No chance! There is one though, the V70. My insurer gives quite generous discounts for length of ownership (hence the 480 being cheap for me).

I have considered the V70 without mentioning it here, but the fact it's cheaper for me to insure than the 480 is a big turn on! We've had it over 6 years now, 24-04-2007 apparently! The issue though is that if I was to get it out for a play again is that all the 480 money would disappear on silly upgrades, a £1600 set of Intrax RSA Coilovers for example!

I don't know, I'll just have to see how things are once/if the 480 goes.

Yesterday and today however I was busy cleaning up the wheels to put on it, which I went to have done today.

They are easily my favourite of the standard wheels!

Too modern for me mate. There's a nice 2 door E30 for sale local, if I can find the money quickly (in other words, no chance!) I might just go for it! :)

We went up into the Brecon Beacons this afternoon and wow, why haven't we before! 35 miles away and about 45 minutes gets you here!

Just wanted to say thanks for keeping the updates coming, Davey - it's a great read. I've been following along for years and thought I should say thanks! I've a 95 and a 93 which is a donor car. I've a bit of work to do still on the '95 - the usual stuff, Sunroof, Rear Lights, some bodywork, Electric aerial, Speedo... when that's all done I'll get her ready to see the world again. I will have a tough time getting the kind of shine that you have - you seem to do really neat work.

Well thank you for reading zozimus!

I sometimes think that maybe I update too often but then I do love the car and enjoy sharing our story :D

Frankly my hard work isn't responsible for the car looking so good but the fact that the car appears to have been cherished by it's previous owners!

If you clean and look after your car she should keep shining!

She is a bit dirty at the moment mind but we'll soon sort that ;)

Soo... These will be the last photos I'll be taking before the car goes for sale. Sad I know :(. But I really really want something else now, it's time! It'll go on eBay too so keep an out out, obviously I'll be posting up links etc.

Ok, so yesterday over on the Volvo Owner's Forum fellow member and 480 driver dcw was in my local(ish) area so we thought it'd be rude not to bring the 2 cars together. It's very strange seeing 2 well kept 480s next to each other!

It was a pleasure meeting you David and the cars seemed to get along fine together even though Poppy is VERY jealous of Morwenna's rear light clusters! :<

Both cars were registered on the same day, Morwenna's number is lower than Poppy's 212 and so is her chassis number so by the looks of it there is some truth in the celebration numbers.

Also, quite interestingly both cars were originally supplied about 25 miles from my home in opposite directions! Mine from Worcester and David's from Abergavenny.

Anyway, enough talk, here are some piccies :D

Been busy cleaning the car up again, this time ready for the for sale photos.

First though, have some pics I took Tuesday evening in the outskirts of Ross-on-Wye. Wanted to get one in the centre of the town but there were too many cars around :(.

After a few hours working on the car I've got a great headache! It looks fab though! My show plates came yesterday too, if only I could drive it with them on lol

Here's the shine on the bonnet, still not finished!

Will be finished and listed officially tomorrow :D

So I washed the car for what might possibly be the last time today :(

For anyone wondering why my old photos aren't showing it's because of a limit on my PhotoBucket account. As so many people have been viewing my images recently I've reached my free bandwidth limit! It will reset on the 25th.

For now though, some 'wet' pics during a rinse after the wash!

At least with Flickr they don't lower my image quality like photobucket do!

P.S. Nearly broke the 300 watcher barrier on the eBay auction. Signed in this morning only to have to look through 7 messages!

The car sold to a newly registered member. I hope he makes a thread here of his own ;)

He was only able to come down on one specific day, which was Thursday of course as his Father was going to the south west so was able to give him a lift. He contacted me through eBay, we agreed a price over the phone, he came, he was satisfied, I was satisfied, he drove all the way home! Once he gone I took the car off eBay cancelling the bids in the process, easily done. Hence it saying no bids!

I had a busy and tiring day cleaning the car up to pass the time. The last time I drove the car was only to go and do the shopping on Wednesday so no proper goodbye drive!

Here are some photos anyway, the very final ones :(

Everyone misses the car (even the one cat!), especially me :(.

I'll probably get another at some point in time, we'll have to see!

Not 100% sure what's next but you'll all find out of course ;)

Thanks for now!

P.S. Use Meguiars' Endurance Tyre Gel on the rear lights to make them that clear! Just make sure it's dry before driving off! Also great for black trim too!

So, here's my last post in this thread, unless I get another 480 of course!

I'm sure most of you VOC readers will have noticed but I though I'd tell the rest of you what I done with the money and the space on the drive :D

After selling Poppy to MichaelL off of here on 25/07 I got looking on eBay and ended up winning something and collecting it on the 28th.

Baring in mind, I was after something older and more retro like a BMW E30 for example it will come as a surprise I'm sure to hear that I bought the newest car I've ever owned. A 2002 Volvo C70 T5 Coupé Manual!

So far it's been a joy to own and there's no denying it's a much better car than the 480 but I do miss her charm :( I'm sure I'll own another some day.

When I got the car it had Silver Comets on it with the roof already being vinyl wrapped earlier this year so I put my Dark Comets on it off my V70 as I thought they'd suite it better! Also got hold of a cheap eggcrate grill and nicked some other bits off the V70 like a strut brace and an air filter.

Here are some pics I took on Sunday after a thorough clean up...

It said it wasn't possible to post so coming on here today I wasn't expecting to see my post once, nevermind twice!!
