Went to Bournemouth today as requested by Triumph restorers http://www.southerntriumph.co.uk/ to see my Spitfire and what goes on down there. I spent almost 4 hours there looking and talking Triumph.
Bloody hell there work is really good! Was talking about engine upgrades.
How about 2.5lt 6 cylinder?
Spitty needs lot's of new panels and welding and I'm going to think about the engine upgrade this week.
The owner called MORRO a classic! and said his not seen one for a long time!
200 miles today without a problem but the rain was so bad on the return drive so had to slow down a lot but still made it in 90mins which is good going still.
93330miles almost 10K in morro

Spent Saturday morning sorting out my passenger side rear wheel arch with waxoyl and put on many coats all around the inside arch and it's now looking much better.
Went out Saturday night to London clubbing and had a great time and today I'm paying the price having got home at 4am I sorted out the driver side arche with waxoyl. I also spent time bring my rusty door to life!
I need to collect another door but until then I just need to sort the rust before it makes the sills rust.

480 has a de-cat pipe now from VDG.
not had much time in recent weeks for anything 480 but I really can't be arsed to fanny about with it. I keep reading the JohnTurbo thread and thinking how cool it would be.... to have another T25 then super mod it but then i wake up and think.... fuck that!!!!!!!!!!! I been there and done it.
V8 480? That's the way to go.

The lower ball joint/wish bone bolts have been replace tonight.
Shame it pissed down with rain and I got soaked to the skin but hey shit happens.
de-cat is very good on the power and brings the turbo into play quicker. I am most pleased, Driving on the motorway is much better with keeping tight gaps and stopping tossers undertake me.

Well....
The bolts are still holding!
I fear the wheel bearings are near death. I have grit blasted my old 480's parts so I can replace morros bearings at some point but I'm really busy these days so finding time is a problem.
I do a lot of london driving now so I have become a parallel parking hero! My girlfriend likes the 480 so that's a bonus!
Going for a drive tomorrow with my g/f and mate who is back from OZ with his wife so should be cool.

Had a funny problem for the last week.
Alarm does not turn the flashing alarm light on but otherwise car is armed
the spot lights refuse to flash but the open door light comes on (instead) and the arial motor starts working when I try to flash the lights with pop up's down!
the inside light will not come on but if set to ON then the open door light turns back on.
I had the dash apart last week to replace a few bulbs then all this stuff stopped working.
The answer............................ The spot light flasher fuse had popped!! Changed and back to normal.
I also replaced the passenger seat belt arm and auto selector bulb, washed the gearbox down and now I need to sort the reversing lights then go out.

I have now done over 12000 miles in this 480, Last week I replaced the driver side rear brake line. Today I rebuilt the passenger side caliper and was surprised at the piston having so much damage so the piston has been fixed.
Tomorrow the fuel tank gets dropped and the other brake lines get replaced but tonight I go out and have fun.

Sunday was spent changing the rear brake lines as they had become very rusty and one was unsafe.
The brakes have been bleed and are better then before. I only paid about £14 for the copper pipe and unions but took all day to complete the work. The rear has been treated to anti rust treatment today.

Fixed the temp gauge problem (replace sensor)
Fixed the reversing lights not turning on! Wear on the switch/lever so reduced the shim size.
Replaced the stat as it was open at 72c bring the engine to 68c while driving around.
Changed the oil.
Bled the brakes again and found air in the system.
98022 miles and counting.

I spent 3 days in Paris and thanks the gods I'm back! I really don't like Pairs. France is OK but not it's capital.
The gasket held and I have really been enjoying my driving today! I found a monkey had made a bid for freedom this afternoon and stuck to my 480, His doing well and will be joined by more monkeys on Saturday.

VADER.
I been having bad ideas about buying a met black late model 480 turbo and fitting a T25 then dropping it 40mm on brand new suspension and springs. Having a special ECU made which has option of low or high boost (I been in 480t with it) Toyo rubber all around, fitting the momo back from 480S.
Bad Martin making a new Vader idea!
I took a Finish girl home last night and she likes the 480 and enjoyed playing with my monkey. My ex girlfriend also loves my 480.
Course this idea goes on the back burner until Spitfire is completed.

Bad Bad Bad Martin!!
This morning I replaced the drivers hub because the bearing was faulty.. well it was fooked big time! Surprised it did not just seize up.
FYI to remove the hub (on a auto for me)
Unslacken the wheel bolts abit
remove wheel cover
use a 27mm socket on but to losen a bit
slacken shock lower bolts 19mm / 16mm
Jack up 480
Remove wheel
undo lower ball joint bolts 15mm head & 17mm nut X 2
remove caliper (8mm allen key) and hang it up on car.
remove pads etc
remove caliper mounting bracket bolts 17mm (i think) (WD40 it hardcore)
remove disc screw
removed disc
use hub puller to push drive shaft out of hub.
remove ABS wiring
prob missing something!
I been bad today! I fitted my MBC and now boosts to end of orange.
TBH, I'm not that impressed with the extra go! I miss my T25!
Might remove after a few days.
