ABS: reading trouble codes - non OBDII no diag unit

The Volvo you want to know something about isn't a 480, but you can't find the answer to your question anywhere... Well, what the heck, have a try here in this corner of Volvos friendliest community...

ABS: reading trouble codes - non OBDII no diag unit

Hi all,

On of my cars is a 1990 460, B18FTM engine. I've changed the engine recently. Had the car stooped for 7 months.

Thing is the ABS light won't go out - something wrong obviously. Want to know how to read the ABS codes. This car uses the very first version of the diag system used on VOLVOs - we short two wires on a plug on the left side, under the dash, turn the key on and count the number of times the dash flashes. Two groups of flashes are shown (two digits).

Does anyone of you guys know how this works exactly: which wires to short and the trouble codes?

Many thanks.

Rui
