Anyone had Citroen BX diesel?

The Volvo you want to know something about isn't a 480, but you can't find the answer to your question anywhere... Well, what the heck, have a try here in this corner of Volvos friendliest community...

I have a Xantia....same deal i guess. Biggest thing to check for is knackered spheres....bouncy bouncy...not TOO much to replace, but maybe 200euros, so you don't really want it.

The engines are bulletproof for the year...but check for leaks...annoying.

Edd had one fro his first car, the 1.7 Diesel will do 50 MPG all day long.

Like john says, the spheres go, they were £50 each.
once they are done though, it really is a VERY comfortable ride.

Rust. open the rear doors.....you will probably find a whacking great hole in the front of the rear wheel arch...this isn't good.
Also rust in various places round the engine bay.

Oh, and the rubber pipes that go into the big LHM container for the suspension and brakes tend to perish. If they split you'll be left sinking to the floor with no brakes

And if you ever lock yourself out, you can usually lift out the rear windscreen using your bare hands.

Today I went to have a look on one TurboDiesel BX. When I asked how about turbo, he replied "it's hissing." Should it be like that or is there an air leak? My friend's got Golf TDi and you cannot hear turbocharger at all. When it was heard service guy told him that there'san air leak.
Please tell me should turbocharger hiss? Or should it be heard in diesel car? ;) Bealive me it was really loud one ;)
