Volvo 480 Club Europe

Hi folks!

I was offered an '89 S40 1,9T (b4148t) with 225kkm on clock and aircon (and 480style board comp) for 1300€. it was hit in the back (not much, bumper and hood) no visual rust, neglected interior (smoker), angine gives stuttering at aceleration, it has knackered exhaust collector at one cilinder (turbo souds ok), it has noisy power stiring pump. I can do exterior and interior cheply, but i am not keen on engine troubles. I know it's 200hp and shure it will go like snapped, but are those engines anyhow problematic?

If its free (?) then start with the thing you think you might not be ab;e to do, then that way if it all goes belly up, then you havvent really lost anything except the price of those parts, and if it goes well, then you can do the stuff that you are confident about!!

well, i've bought it. payed 1300€ for it. its B4194T, not that nonsense i wrote before. now i need a couple of sunny days to sort out interior and some hamerjob in the back (previous owner hit a street lamp at reversing) and a guess there are some irritating small (3 hour ) jobs to be done and i hit te road!

i just hope it will not do any damage to my 480 enthusiasm. oh man.....
