340 with a b18ft non starter

Post by volvoboy » Mon Aug 04, 2008 6:04 pm

hiya, i have put a b18ft into a 340. everything is connected up but it wont start.
then engine turns over fine. the spark plugs spark.
there is fuel goin into the fuel rail. but the spark plugs dont seem to be that wet, so could i have and injector problem???
i have volatge to the injectors when the car is being started, and if i put a live onto the injectors then they click. i am very confused.
also when i turn the ignition on the fuel pump doesnt prime, not sure if this would amke any difference but it only runs while tryin to start the car.
I have read the other posts about b18ft problem starting, and there are no air leaks on my mainfold, im going to try the easy start when i get round to getting some.
ive tried disconnected maf sensor and engine temp sensor, makes no difference at all
All the sensos and flywheel are off of the 440 which i took the b18ft engine out of,

i have also been checking the earths and lives to the ecus and these all appear to be fine.
ive replaced the plugs leads dizzy cap and arm, to ensure i have a good spark,

any ideas ne 1 please :)

Did you take the loom out the 440 for the ECUs?

If you are sure all the live and earths are in place for both ECUs then check the connection from Pin 17 of the EZK ECU to pin 1 of the LH 2.2 ECU. This is the RPM signal, and is also used to drive a Tacho.

Just get another one from the scrappy! We have 440s in ours all the time, and my boyfriend has bought at least 3 ECUs in the past and paid no more than £10 including the ECU and a few other small accessories!!
