Got my 16's on!

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

They are 16x7j OZ Superleggera with 205/50 Toyo tyres.

look at the before pic groomus, the arch gap is smaller by a noticable amount but i didnt want to lower it too much cos i want to keep it fairly practical! I reckon its lowered about 20-25mm.

Another few tweaks (late spec vented brakes, clear clusters, fixed focus fogs and a 1/2 leather interior) and it'll be worthy of a picture in my sig! Then its on the road for the turbo and bye bye MR2!

Cheers all, glad its not just me that likes them :) Cost more than the car did, embarassingly enough!
LOL!!! You're selling the MR2? You're like me...change the car just because you can.
I promised myself i'd keep it for a year but its got to go, it really is far too quick and it kinda scares me to be honest, especially in the wet!
Also, i was driving it pretty hard last weekend and got 160 miles from a full £45 worth of optimax, that scares me too!

Plan is to perfect the turbo 480 over the summer whilst i'm not using it, then flog the 2 and have a nice safe winter of FWD comfort!

Looks good!

any noticeable difference when driving with them? mates just gone up 2inch in wheel size (15-17) on a vr6 and recons the handlings not so good anymore, would like to know how the 480 is affected...

i guess i'l join the que in quite fancying the idea of a half leather interior!

Nice wheels. :volvo:

These style of wheels are pretty popular here where I am, alot of people put them on cars, and even though they are a nice wheel, I'm a bit sick of seeing them. They just don't suit some cars.

However, they look good on the 480. Reason they work is because of the shape of the body, with the pointy nose and the way the curves run over the roof. My boss has an FTO with similar wheels, and they work nicely because of the exact same reason.

They'd be nice in another colour too.

No idea! its stored off the road till i finish modding it so i cant drive it anywhere other than round the private car park that its parked in!
Having said that, it seems to have made the steering a wee bit heavier but thats to be expected, going from 185's to 205's.

I changed the wheels on my MR2 from 15's to 17's and its made the handling better except for slight tramlining on rough roads. the lower pro sidewall has also made the back end break away easier when you boot it, just what you need :(

Looking good mate, Oz SuperLegs are the biz!

I've always found 16's to be the ultimate for comfort and handling. 15's get to much tyre wall flex and 17's never want to turn in to corners in the wet..... anyone got a set of 16" TSW Eurace going spare?!?!?!?! ;)

How did you get on removing the rear bump stops to replace the springs? Mine caused no end of problems, thought i was gona need a new rear axle
