When is your 480 happiest?

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

My 480 is happiest when i am cruising at 30 mph about at 3,000 rpm off boost, then booting it and feeling a full hit of 14 psi........... love it.

well at the moment the clutch just slips all the time but you get the idea

Handling was designed by Lotus afterall, that must be something ;)

No (or hardly any) body-roll makes me a happy customer, I love my fast corners. In my not-so-very-extensive experience with different models of cars, this is my first time actually experiencing the "seat-of-the-pants" driving. You can really feel the car getting its sideways tendencies when you're pushing it hard. Credit to the levels of grip my current tyres (Goodyears) are giving me, it feels like they're flexing sideways before giving up and actually sliding. Which I've only done once now (well, once accidentily ;) ), on wet road, and again I could feel it go before it did and so I had no problems correcting. In short, I wish I were a bit more monitarily blessed, so I could afford to slide it all over the place all the time and not care about the tyres smoking up along with the petrol :)

I opted for playing with Porsches...altough it's not really Porsches. Just like playing with other cars full stop. They always seem to be quite surprised when the car goes flying past them. I know they don't like it 'cos someone always swerves out the traffic after you

Bring it awwwn....

I like playing with other cars too, but real fun is on little country roads, now that I've had her a few months, I'm getting to know how she handles, and manage to fakely drift round bends, and beat up people driving cars that were built for little roads ie 205 GTi's and GTT's, little farts like Saxo VTS's don't stand a chance. Plus french drivers are useless, and brake before each bend, so that also makes life easy.
