Insurance

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

I'm insured by AXA (Belgium) Last year I had to pay 1000€ for my ES (no omnium). This year I bought a turbo and he should cost me 1500€, but because I have a fast tongue I got the same settlement as for my ES so now I pay 1000€ for the turbo. Next year when I turn 23 it should become 750 because I 'm no longuer a risic group for them (youngsters with fast cars)

Volvo themselves do insurance? Or did you mean the VOC?

I bet in either case they wouldn't take on a modded 480 :(

Its Volvo owners insurance 01422 325830. royal and sun alliance underwrite them.

its worked out good for me and the excess is only £100, free glass cover(no excess on it), unlimited audio etc.

Insurance grrrrrrr.............
Actually its coming down now. got quoted £568 (tpft)for the 480 at elephant.co.uk, and £445 (tpft)for the 740 at norwich union. then went on the lloyds site and got quoted £1800  (tpft)for teh 740, and they wouldn't quote for my slightly modded 480. I haven't had a quote like that since i was 17!!

I've sold the 480 now but can give you last years figure.

Norwich union direct, 480 turbo, 35 year old sole driver, limited to 5000 miles a year, 7+ years NCB, no points (there is a suprise!), living is a semi-rural location.

It was about £315 for fully comp.
