What would you do with the 480 if you one the lottery?

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

This is just carrying on from the off-topic bit in the rubbish cars we love bit!

Effecively a brand new car! lol.
This wouldnt be my main car but it would be in my garage(along with about another 20 cars lol!).

What would you guys do?

Then I'd get that 460 with the V8 and refit it into The Baroness. Then respray her in Storm Grey. And get a Hausser kit fitted.
I'd buy a Turbo Collection and get it converted into RHD using the parts out of the Celebration of the same number  ... god, I'd love that. Well, they should have made some RHD anyway, I'm just finishing the job Volvo should have done. Still, I'm sure there'd be plenty of people who wanted the only LHD Celeb! Haha! But which plaque to keep? Would it be a Celebration or a Collection?
Oh, and I'd get a new front reg plate for my S and sell her.... I've spent enough on that one!

How many people on the forum would really keep their 480 as a main car if they won the lottery I wonder? I'd take the Esprit/Aston/Dino option.

I'd like to do the same, and keep the 480 for occations like going round to my mates, going to concerts and of course, 'country thrashes' etc, but would also buy a couple of other cars for showing off purposes! ;)

Oh crap, I'm ready for my public flogging at the next meet now! :cryhard:

I'll stick with prev comment/vote - 480 would go to my mum (which is prob where the ES is going anyway) to make way for the 3 cars prev listed. Doubt if their forums are as good as this one though (he says backing away slowly, head bowed).

hmmm i might keep it, may even send it to a garage for a while to have all the annoying typically 480 related stuff fixed, i doubt it would get used much if i'd won the lottery mind!

:D

I don't do the lottery anymore, wasted far too much money on it = £5 a week for the first 2 years of it starting.

But if I did and if I won........I'd probably end up with a 480 of every model and every colour, keep them all in a huge barn conversion and have my own personal mechanic on hand ;)

and in the other huge barn conversion, a P1800, TR4, TR6, Triumph GT6, MGBGT, Healey Sprite, Scimitar................... :)

as for a new car, hmm think I'd have to start off with a TVR soft top :D

I would buy a plot of land, have a full workshop and garage built and then buy all the 480s on eBay to have them fixed up. Of course all club members would be welcome to use tools, parts, storage space etc all for free.

If I won the lottery... hmmm....

First I would have to actually buy a 480 ;) but then I think full restoration and use it, who needs big flash motors eh? the 480's enough of a head turner as it is

But first I'll have to start playing the lottery

Keep it as an ocasional car instead of the daily driver right now.

Also would buy a house with a garage big enough to store the mr2, 480T and all those other ocasional cars I'll be buying then, in

Nimbus grey (audi colour) 480 4WD T5 running 400+bhp on ronal R10 turbo rims, i'm not a greedy man!

Other toys would include:

Sierra Saff Cosworth 2wd (wont list my dream spec as it would take for ever)

Dodge Charger

Metro Reyland spec (running 1.8 K-series engine out of MGF on throttle bodies)

Plus big house and all the rest of that kinda stuff

I'm excited already...

Firstly, i'd build a big heated garage, enough for 4 cars with all the tools i'd need. Then i'd have space foy my 480 T (which i'd send to Volvo and have throughly sorted out-no expense spared). I'd have my Dad's J plate Turbo (as i'd buy him a T5-R or S60 R) and get that finished off for show car events. Then i'd buy a couple of 'scruffy' 480's to make one good as a project-build it myself from the ground up...a nice dark Olive green with some graphite grey 5 spokes (like the 850 R models grey) but in 15's running a 2 Litre Turbo with all the extra's made for the 480 *breathes* (excluding stereo-just a nice subtle setup)....and...er...thats it! Oh, and def. a bed in the garage so i'd never have to go in!

Why do 480's make you like this :dunno:

i'd fully restore my own 480 with original volvo parts to mint condition, respray. Basicly doing what i want to do with it but just a bit quicker.
Same goes for the other 480.

Then go out to the dealer and get a nice Saffron Pearl V70R with dual pipes, finaly invest some money and get a nice DB9 to sit on the drive :P
White 480 Turbo '91, full leather, white blinkers, daily driver.
