Insurance

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

I now have 3 less points than last year and an extra years no claims

But that is all mods declared.

But with my latest mod when i get round to fitting it will go up to £600!!!!!!

My renewal quote just came through too.

Was £500 last year, after adding on time on risk for when I converted it.

Now

£403 TPFT....23, 0 points, 4 yrs no claims, all mods declared - e.g.insured as ES converted to turbo, not just as turbo, etc etc etc.
Finally the insurance is less than the cars worth, and I can afford not to pay it monthly!

Think I might ring round, they said if i can find a cheaper quote they will guarantee to match it.

Ah!

Now then.I have a bad record BUT now I only have to declare 6 points for speeding. With 1 years no claims its about 950 TP F+T.

This week I had a quote from Footman James who class the 480 as a classic as some may know here.1049 quid, and they put it as an ES by mistake-**** that!!!!!!!!!!!

ermmmm.Im 36 by the way!!!!!! :? :D

HIC : couldn't compete with Adrian Flux, by about £100

Privilege: Their advert is a big lie!! Ring up:

"how old are you?"
23....
"We won't quote for a car with modifications untill you are 25"
ummm, but I have my 4 years no claims!
"its our policy blah blah blah"
ok, thanks anyway, bye!

Obviously not phone operatives fault, so I was totally nice to him, terse e-mail sent however!

"My renewal was £403, my car is modified I have 4 yrs no claims clean license etc etc, I'm not considered a huge risk by my current insurers.... If you are interested in having my business let me know!"

Bet they wont...obviously don't want my money!
