New 480 GT owner. Hi!

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

New 480 GT owner. Hi!

Post by ArcticTony » Tue Oct 15, 2024 9:52 am

Hi there everyone. I thought I'd just post to say that I am the new owner of Laurie's GT which I collected at the weekend. Also just to thank Laurie for his time and efforts in chatting about the car, sharing many photos and details and taking good care of it over the last year or so. There's a few things that need looking at; principally it looks like the VEM needs attention as there's no life at the fan switch. So my starting point is to get that sorted.

Hi AT; Welcome!

Lovely car. Congratulations. Plenty of info on here. You have come to the right place.

Be sure to keep a diary on here for all your work. I do enjoy reading them all.

Thanks! I’ll try my best to update when it’s worth doing. I’m sure I’ll be popping up with questions before too long.

Congratulations on taking on arguably the best 480 model in the best colour (not that I'm biased at all ;) ), and welcome on here!

As has been said, keep us posted and ask any questions...

Welcome indeed ! Have you seen the GT meet on the 27th ? Celebrating 30 years with a photoshoot at Weston Manor where the photos for the GT brochure were taken. Perhaps you will be able to join us.

Thanks! I haven’t seen the meet. Where is Weston Manor please?

I’d love to have been there but having checked my diary I have a work commitment that I can’t change. Never mind. If there’s anything planned for next year then I’d be interested for sure. Hope the sun shines for you!
