480 Radiator Fan Switch
I need help wi my 480es 2.0i. The radiator fan switch has decided to stay permanently on so once the engine is switched off it stays on and flattens the battery. I've disconnected it but obviously this time of year it'll overheat. Is there a replacement or equivalent part available? The car is unusable at the moment. Thanks!
Re: 480 Radiator Fan Switch
When I had this problem it was the coolant temperature sensor in the radiator that had failed. As an interim solution before I could replace the sensor itself I just removed the cooling fan relay each time I parked the car.
Obviously the fan runs continuously when driving and the engine temperature will remain low but at least the car is usable.

Re: 480 Radiator Fan Switch
Go to Autodoc... enter car details... go to cooling... then fan switch.
There are loads of good pictures including connector design, thread type and temperature ranges etc.
Compare with your old one.
Even if "out of stock" (common), Autodoc reveals aftermarket part numbers so you can go hunting elsewhere if needs be.
