Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Hi all,
Came across a post of FB where someone spotted an ultra-rare UK spec RHD Paris Blue Limited Edition 480 languishing in a scrap yard called '234Pickurparts' in Manassas North Virginia.
According to the service book, this car used to have the registration 'J79 GOR' before being imported into the United States sometime in around 1996. The car was also supplied by Carringdale Motors in Bognor Regis in October 1991. It's been there about a year with its last 'MOT' equivalent being in 2019. The nosecone, lights and bumper are now missing, but the engine is present. As far as I know the car was last spotted there just yesterday.

Wow! I'm surprised to see this, especially as it's only a couple hours away from my house! Wondering how this was originally imported to the US as it wouldn't have been able to be legally registered on the road unless maybe owned by a dealer.
Does anyone have a link to the original FB post which found this car? Thanks!

If you can get to it easily, I’d definitely save the seats and the carpet! Extremely rare being Paris Edition spec!
Link to the post is below, however I think you need to join the group first as it’s private. You could also try giving the place a call if you need any parts..

Holy shit, that is an astonishing find Will! Can't believe one of the rarest variants of all time ended up in a market it was never sold in

Current Jobs to do (23/1/22):
Fix Central Locking
Fix drivers side speaker
Annoying Scratching Squeak
Water leaks
Complete Front O/S rebuild

Thanks @WillC9303! I'm very tempted to go grab every salvageable part left on the car

It would also be worth saving the roof bars and the rails they bolt to (a rare optional extra) plus have a little look to see if the bottom lip on the front spoiler is intact.
