480 Turbo on YouTube

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

480 Turbo on YouTube

Post by Jay-Kay-Em » Sun Feb 19, 2023 5:43 pm

YouTube "reviews" are ten-a-penny, and there's a lot of dross on there that's for sure.

Having said that, one of my subscriptions is a charming guy with a channel called "Morsels & Motors".

To my surprise, he has uploaded a 480 Video...

Feel free to agree / disagree / tear to shreds!

He is Cambridge based I think, with a great appreciation of base models and blanking plates

Pity he didn't try a better maintained car with a manual box.

Turbo engine + auto gearbox seems a strange combination.
Never driven an auto so can't really give an opinion, but can only guess that the auto box probably drains whatever modest advantage the Turbo gives...?

Will - I drive, or shall do when it gets warmer and I can fix its little(!) problems, a 480 turbo auto and I love it.
I've prefered to drive an auto for a number of years but my preference can, probably, be put down to my age.
Mind you, it has been 'roboued' which helps put the smile on my face.
At the moment it's 'off the road' and, as my garage is like a fridge so I'm not going to lie on the floor - even on a crawler - before the temperatre has risen into, at least, the 60's, it will stay o t r for some time.
Roll on May?
