2x 480s stolen from Manchester area

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

2x 480s stolen from Manchester area

2x 480s stolen from Anglesey area (reposted from the VOC forum)

Hello

Sadly my two 480s were stolen from their storage location and I wondered if people could please keep an eye out for them or parts from them please.

I'll keep the full reg off the forum but a black automatic, red trim on bumpers, reg H881 and a blue manual K980.

If people see them for sale anywhere (both registered with the police as stolen) then please let me know.

Or please keep a look out for cars like this being broken for spare parts too. Again please contact me if you see any like them!

Thanks

Bad news and likely not a great outcome, sadly.

I think worrying about cloning the registrations is the least of his worries now!

That is awful, I wasn't aware that these were targets, slightly concerned about using mine as a daily as it is, though not as risky as an old ford. I guess this could be a parts job
Current Jobs to do (23/1/22):
Fix Central Locking
Fix drivers side speaker
Annoying Scratching Squeak
Water leaks
Complete Front O/S rebuild

I will keep an eye on international markets, if parts emerge by unknown sellers.

So sorry to hear about this. They should be easy to spot, if they're kept in one piece!

I've got a old school stop lock on mine, literally over 20 year old!

Might make them think twice, might not

It’s shocking stuff; one of the worries about storage is that unless you’re regularly checking it, they could be gone and you not know for ages. :(

I too go with a stop lock (the pro version, as it was that ham certified) but that wouldn’t stop them loading a car onto a flat bed.

Will keep eyes peeled in case they cross the Pennines - depends what the thieves have in mind for them I guess.

Worrying development for us all, though - we all want to see the 480 gain in popularity, value and desirability, but not to become that sort if desirable!

I feel for the owner.
