I am planning on going to this for a bit of fun in June. Does anyone else fancy making a 480 convoy?

Looks like a possibility to include in a 2 day mobile meet, although Yeovil is not exactly central
I'm also looking at Goodwood's breakfast club, and others in various locations. Fingers crossed it doesnt all go pear shaped again.

Having looked at the website, we've decided we'd like to look round the museum on Saturday then stay over (booked Travelodge Wincanton) and go to the Breakfast Club on the Sunday. Very happy to join a Sunday morning convoy - I suggest we pick one or more meeting places when we know who is coming and where from.

It's a long drive from Norfolk to Yeovil, so we'll be staying over somewhere on Friday night as well, but I'll book that nearer the time.

I can’t really commit now due to work but if I am home and this becomes a 480 meet, I will try my best to come along!

Hi Sylvia that's Excellent. I mentioned this one as it is local to me and not sure how much chance I will get to go further afield at the moment. I have never been to one of these meetings before and I haven't been to the museum even though I have lived in Somerset since the early 2000's. A freind of mine who lives in Yeovil owns an older Land Rover who often goes to the older classics breakfast who suggested it to me.
I told my 8 year old daughter about this day out and she is very keen on going so as you say I just hope they don't have to cancel again!

Well, if it does get cancelled, I'm sure they will offer the option to just transfer the bookings to a later date.

No too difficult for me to get to provided my handbrake is sorted by then, is it just a turn up job?

If you fancy driving there in convoy we will need to know roughly where you are coming from to arrange a meeting place.

I am Taunton based. Guess we plot something nearer the time.

You have to book in advance on the Haynes museum website. But it's only five pounds per car for the Breakfast club so not too expensive. Not sure how much museum is afterwards though.

Here is our schedule :

Friday 4th June (evening) drive from Norfolk to Basingstoke Travelodge - very happy to meet up with others along the way (Cambridge/Milton Keynes/Oxford/Reading) aiming to arrive in Basingstoke around 9-10pm

Saturday 5th drive Basingstoke to Haynes Motor Museum nr Yeovil - anyone else for the convoy ? Depending how long we are in the museum, we could do something later in the day. We are staying overnight at Wincanton Travelodge

Sunday 6th back to the museum bright and early for the Breakfast Club meeting. Anyone wanting to visit the museum could go in the afternoon if they've only come for the day. Tickets bought Saturday are valid for Sunday as well.

Bearing in mind that all restrictions could possibly be removed on 21st June, it may prove better to move plans forward to the July Breakfast Club meet so watch this space !

Sounds good, I shall pencil it in on a preliminary basis. Near me is the Winchester Autobarn which could be good to form a convoy

I hope to make both dates. More than happy to convoy on later date in July if more 480 owners can make it then. Providing my 480 passes Mot. Fingers crossed, Its in for pre-Mot tomorrow 😯.

Oh poop. I went to book the June breakfast club and it's now sold out. I went to May's breakfast club but since then they have joined the two events back together so all cars in at once (post and pre 1980's cars?) I guess I will have to book the July one instead. I could still come out for a drive though. :wall:

We will only be at the Autobarn on Saturday morning (not Sunday), before we go to visit the Haynes Museum. Tickets for the museum are still available if anyone fancies going.

Sorry to muck you about but I am driving back from visiting my family in London on the Saturday. I may ring the Haynes people just to see if the site is not working properly. It was nowhere near full on the last meet so didn't rush to get ticket. But then they have combined the days now so maybe busy.
