Returning member and owner

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Returning member and owner

Hello everyone. I am delighted to be back in a 480 after 11 years!
I previouly owned a white '93 ES model which I regretably sold in 2009.
Now that I am in a much better position to own one, I have this. A '94 GT that is probably going to turn out to be a money pit. Gaps in the service history and some interesting MOT history makes this a bit of a gamble. Ultimately, I'm so happy to be back driving one of these :D

I have quite the list of things that need attention. So far nothing too serious, it's mostly interior bits and pieces. Hopefully I can find the correct rear side reflector to replace that awful looking bodge job.
Anyway, lots more to say about this car, so later on I will start a separate post with all the known pro's and cons and things to do.
It's great to be back, and I'm glad to see this forum still going!

Welcome back, Phil :D

Good to see that the irrefutable little law that reads "once a 480 owner, sooner or later a 480 owner again" is still alive and well!

Given your reference to the bodged rear side reflector, I take it yours is the red GT that was on ebay? Well done on your purchase and enjoy: as you know you'll find plenty of willing helpers on here with problems...

Hope we meet at some point, when the meetings scene can get back up and running!

Best

David
