Can anyone help? Need copy of cert of compliance

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Can anyone help? Need copy of cert of compliance

Post by kenthesweep » Sun Sep 20, 2020 4:28 pm

The 1993 1.7l LE i've just bought has come from Ireland - DVLA want to know the back end of stuff before they will consider re registering in UK.
All the info is shown on the Certificate of Compliance that came with the new car...

Does anyone have one in their files that they could send a copy of please? I'm on kenthesweep@hotmail.com if you could oblige.

Cheers

Oh, & some bikes... & wife doesn't understand...

Has this car always been registered in Ireland? If it was ever UK registered it will be easier.

I am currently going through this with a car built in 1960, cars over 10 years old are exempt from approval so I just filled out the basic info and sent the form off with the foreign registration document, NOVA and some other documents.

https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-approval/exe ... e-approval

If you send the documents off and they aren't happy all that happens is that they return the paper work to you.

The only place you will get a conformity certificate is Volvo.

Thanks for the info, Volvo have been in touch saying that they did not produce CoC until 1995, so I'm off the hook with DVLA!

Did you get a NOVA from HMRC? thats one thing that can cause problems.

Make sure there are no discrepancy between serial numbers, issue I have is an error carried forward which was spotted by the vehicle inspector.

Slow process at the best of times.

nova was the first thing I did, & all went through ok. Sent a copy of that off with the application along with pics of the car, SORN application & anything else I could think of - it cost me £6.10 in postage!
