All aboard the gravy train....

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

All aboard the gravy train....

Post by jifflemon » Sun Aug 23, 2020 8:36 pm

Well.... its been an interesting summer hasn't it? just HOW many 480's have suddenly emerged out of the wood work for sale?

I think it started with the White scrapper for £8k (which soon dropped to £6k, then £5k)
The turbo at auction - Made 2.5
2 GT's (averaged just over 1k each)
3 celebs (1 saved, 1 broken, one still on auction)
a smattering of ES's
An S
and a twin tone...

All I'm waiting for now is a "The scrappage scheme will give me £2k so match that and it's yours" idiot, and I think that'll be Bingo!

Where was the Twin Tone? I don't recall seeing that, or have there really been that many I haven't noticed?

If I were to get another Wedge it will probably be a TT 2.0, but I have other fancies to satisfy first

The latest was a nice looking F reg ES at Mathewsons on the 22nd. I don’t know what it fetched though.

I go out that way every so often - that's the second early white-with-black-bumpers 480 they've had this year. If I'm passing I'll definitely stop and have a look at it - apart from the fact mine was manual, it's just like my first 480 was!

Hopefully a tad more reliable though...
