FBHVC 2020 Historic Vehicle survey

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

FBHVC 2020 Historic Vehicle survey

Post by MisterH » Sat Aug 01, 2020 9:54 am

Here we go, the 2020 survey is here and having completed it on behalf of my 480 and the Rover, thought I ought to share it. This is vital in the fight to keep historic vehicles a thing, and it also has a section on the preservation of future historic vehicles (1991-2000)

I am sure I am not alone here with classic cars being close to my heart, as such I need not remind you of the challenges we all face to keep our passion alive

Many thanks for considering this, I hope our efforts prevail!

Fantastic to hear!

The power of a group of United people is just extraordinary and I have no doubt we can win the fight when it comes to be a fight, it will be a few year yet but it is on its way. There is more interest in my generation than one may think, however I'm not sure how common I am in regards to my preference for cars to be preserved other than modified. And all the veteran cars which don't even appeal to me, let alone the average teen...

It will be a challenge but I have every confidence we can keep our right to drive what we want and when, physically keeping the cars on the road though is another matter...

do you think I could cheat?
I filled this in on the other PC for the SS1 and said the 480 was a 1991 model . . ..

we need to try something before they and as museum pieces, and we can't all wait 30 minutes as charge the car at the filling station on the M74, with three charging points :-(

I'd say it counts, so long as vehicles are identified and it's clear that they are important.

I doubt we will be forced into green cars, after all there are plenty of combustible materials that can be used to power IC engines, anyone tried running a Wedgie on Smirnoff?

if it was tax free then possibly a maybe, although not that very environmentally friendly growing plants to turn into sugar to turn to alcohol??
trees/wood waste to booze is the best route, but not been cracked (yet)
