msn article from May

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Trust Gavin to put together a favourable article, the wedgie even makes up part of Petrolblog's architecture:
https://petrolblog.com/major-waffle/

So does the car drive like a RWD? (I have only ever driven a 480 on the road so I don't really know how to compare it, although I did learn to drive in our Ginetta G26)
Current Jobs to do (23/1/22):
Fix Central Locking
Fix drivers side speaker
Annoying Scratching Squeak
Water leaks
Complete Front O/S rebuild

I still maintain Gavin needs to do a retrospective on the 480; He called it back in 2011, 9 years on, was he right?

That's an idea, Ill ask him about it when he returns to writing (apparently he is on a hiatus at the moment)

It's a front wheel drive, and a good one. But it is not nor drives like a rear wheel driven car. For that a driveshaft to the rear is needed.
This does not mean the 480 is less or not good. But it's fwd not a rwd period.

Nobody by the way will ever have discussions how a rwd drives like a fwd.

The whole idea comes from the time when rwd cars had live rear axles and were nasty tail swaggers, and the first fwds were laid out with huge under-steer to protect the bland driver for errors, at least that's what the wise men from the car manufacturers thought.
after over 10 years parted with the 1995 Volvo 480 ES 2.0
