Lifetime care?

I saw in one of my dealer brochures that the 480 is eligible for lifetime care, does that mean my car is under warranty still? does it mean anything these days?
Would be quite a boon if it did!

if it's been serviced by Volvo within 1 month or 1000 miles of its service due date for all its life, only ever had genuine Volvo parts used, all the extras like brake fluid changes and coolant changes, and Volvo have been kept informed of all ownership changes etc, then arguably it might still apply...
That said, it was only cover for things that failed before they could reasonably be expected to do so. Given when your car was new Volvo considered its life expectancy to be about 21 years, I think they'd say everything is entitled to fail now!!
Nice idea though...

We could just rock up and say, "well life means life so ill have those new rear light clusters"
"What do you mean they no longer exist?"

My first 480 had Lifetime Care, a 1992 two tone. I claimed for a battery after about four years, but the claim was only proportional to age on certain items, resulting in a discount of 25% off the retail price. However it did help when I needed a new ECU a year later and I was given a bigger discount, I think it was 40%

480 owner:
"Hello can I have a speedo rebuild, rear arches doing and rear lenses"
Volvo Dealership:
"Sorry sir but your car is out of warranty, would you like a trade in?"
*plays cassette
Dealership:
"Bugger"

Sadly not... if it was Sally Traffic I would have her on loop all day long
It's Peter Hobday and Leonard Parkin... who both must of been hard up for work at the time

One of them did a cassette that came with my old F-reg 480. It was like a promo sort of thing I think. I wish I’d made a copy!

Lifetime Care
must have had LOADS of 'loop holes' built in?
no way could they offer such a warranty and still be in business, oh I forgot they're not really any more cos owned by ? ? ?
even the C30 'anti rust' warranty was a piece of tosh as only covered rust from the inside out, jeez, must damage to paint is on outside so a fairly safe bet there . . . . and it had to be inspected every year at ££££
but nice marketing ploy?
Vauxhall 'lifetime' was 100,000 miles and only for first owner?, and a few other wrinkles , only useful if you planned to buy the car and run it until it expired, not your average three year and sell on purchaser

But how many modern dealership staff will be familiar with these loopholes? If one turns up with this proof, how are they going to rebuff them on the spot?
Would be quite amusing I reckon, talk about a practical, indeed a profitable, joke!
