Nearly 40 Citroen 2CV? I find the data very surprising........

I've seen several examples recently were people with rotten old cars put the car on Facebook/eBay/gumtree saying "give me £2k cos it's what I can get in scrappage".

Sadly these idiots actually think they're getting 2k off a new car.....

The way I read the data is that there were 166 480's scrapped when you include the sub-models like ES, turbo, etc! Yikes!

And up to 62 more if you include "VOLVO,400,1 and ‎VOLVO,400 SERIES,61‎"‎

Very interesting data - I like how DVLA is publishing this stuff - albeit after a FOI request.

The data is very 'dirty' though. Looks like entrants have had free text - very dangerous! You should see the amount of spellings for Vauxhall!

480 Xi and 480 GLE..... they are 440 trim levels. ... and they were probably Volvo dealers entering that! Reminds me of a post I saw on here where the Volvo dealer called it a four-eight-zero

The "spares thing" is probably illegal stripping of them. There used to be thousands more. Apparently, they're just waiting for the price of scrap to go back up before offing the last load.

um, surely they've been deliberately positioned by make and model for easier breaking ? I read that as the owner taking them batch by batch to a workshop somewhere else and concentrating on one marque at a time ? If they were going for scrap wouldn't they just be jumbled up ?
