480 Restoration on TV

Re: 480 Restoration on TV
As with ANY TV program, its done for entertainment, not for factual content.
Watch wheeler dealers and stick the reg's through an MOT checker. The cars are never sold to actual members of the public; Liability insurance would be WAY too much of an issue! Usually, they're "sold" to a member of the production company, who sells it on as a private sale, never mentioning the TV side of it...
As you can probably guess, I despise ALL TV shows!

It's the same with the Repair Shop etc. I watch these programmes and think 'pull the other one!'jifflemon wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 4:32 pmAs with ANY TV program, its done for entertainment, not for factual content.

Yeah there is a limit to what can be done, but ever since WD moved to the states I feel it has gone down the drain, it's place taken by Car S.O.S, perhaps the only original classic car show out there in my view

Re: 480 Restoration on TV
I have quite enjoyed some of the episodes of 'Rust Valley Restorers' that I have watched on Netflix

Project Binky on YouTube is a fairly realistic thing - 4 years in, they're still not finished yet - Certainly gives me hope!
YouTube is definitely the place for realistic restoration stuff.
