Bal des debutantes

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Bal des debutantes

Post by frenchfries » Wed Jul 19, 2017 8:49 am

Hi all

Quick update. Skip is at the garage for a week for various bits and pieces to be replaced/looked at etc..... It will then spend a week at the body-shop for a final once over August 14-18th.

After that I will finally publish pictures and hopefully it will be as good as I want it to be.

I cannot wait :)

Gosh, me too. By the time Skip is ready it will be time to put it to bed for winter. No rain, no salt, no cold :)

Yay, Skip is back finally.

Good job all around, all shiny and no rust to be found A-NY-WHERE! Not that there was a lot to start with but now you could actually eat straight from the wheel arches :)

This afternoon the door cards went back and I also replaced the rear speakers.

They also managed to fix the door hinge so this is another list of stuff dealt-with all in 1 fell swoop :)

Now I can obsess over why the red light of the hazard lights switch does not come on, even after replacing the bulb :kill:

Looks lovely! :D

All you need now to finish it off (only personal preference, of course!) are some white front indicator units, although I appreciate that's one thing to say that and another to find some...

Looking forward to seeing Skip for real and meeting you in October; meanwhile, enjoy enjoy enjoy!

Thanks all :)

On the subject of white indicators, I prefer the yellow ones just a bit. Also, the fact that they are hard to come by and the last set on eBay went for £280 makes me like the yellow ones even more :)

Within 2 weeks I should also have the replacement front spoiler as well.

Looking forward to seeing you all in October

Don't view it like that - just consider that your car has a unique character all of its own!
