Fleabay purchases

Well, I'm sorry to say that after paying on the 26th of November last year for four leather seats and a rolling boot cover, only the boot cover has arrived so far (yesterday) :cryhard:

I've given the seller quite a bit of time to explain what is going on, and made offers to arrange a courier to collect the items, but maybe this is as much as I will get........being the polite sort, I will ask one more time......

Could I ask has anyone bought any leather seats recently....?

I don't like to write posts like this, and the seats weren't particularly expensive, but I feel it is my duty to fellow 480 drivers to warn about making similar purchases on eBay

Sorry to hear that. Care to share the sellers ebay ID? If not publically then could you PM me with it?

I'm on the verge of a deal as it happens...

Cheers

Not u Jim!! Not an enthusiast (who looks a little like Robert Donat from the 1934 film...etc, etc :D ), no instead a capitalist eBay seller growing rich on my hard earned pennies :cryhard:

Yorkshire480, you have PM. I don't want to publically give names, as it is bad form until I see what the end result is, maybe there is a perfectly rational explanation...although it hasn't been forthcoming for over 2 months and like I said the money was paid. I just posted out of frustration and also see if anyone else had a similar situation...

Cheers

put in a mail to paypal ASAP to get a refund before its too late
I lost $555 a few years ago because i trusted a guy to post something, he dragged it out for 3 months with a series of sob stories which i believed and in the end i lost my money as i'd gone over the time limit for claims

Was it a professional breaker then rather than an individual breaking their car? Did you hit a buy it now or something or did you just send the funds to them via paypal? If you bought it actually through eBay you should be able to open a case on there (if you haven't left it too late!) and get your funds back!

If you let them get away with it they might think they can do over someone else!! A name and shame is definitely in order if you can't sort it!!

Regardless, I hope you manage to sort it out!

P.S. Grumpy Cat is the ugliest cat ever, the internet should team up and kill it!

In that case James you need to go on ebay, find the item and open a case in the resolution centre asap (You only have 90 days I believe if you can find it)! Doing this will either make the seller see sense and give you refund/send them or ebay will just send you a refund after they've checked over things.

Please, kill grumpy cat !!!

Cheers for the PM Jamesy. It is as I suspected! I guess the moral of the story is that if an ebayer looks too good to be true then they probably are!

Well I sent them a message saying I wouldn't be going ahead with my purchase due to Jamesy's problems. They responded by saying there's always two sides of the story which is fair enough but then threw in some personal insults which leads ne believe my instincts were right all along.

Nice one, I had this ready to go.....

Thanks very much, yorkshire480, there's only a limited number of people buying spares for this type of car so hopefully this will help!

By the way all, after the advice above, I contacted eBay about this, through the Customer Support......this was the reply I got when I tried to open a case.......

We're sorry there's a problem with your purchase. You have 45 days after you buy an item to open a case. Unfortunately, the deadline to contact us about a problem with this item was 05 Jan, 2013. You can try to work out this problem by contacting the seller- opens in a new window or tab.

(Payment date was actually 21st of November, not the 26th)

If there are any more developments I will post them up, I have emailed the seller with a request for an update on the 7th Feb...nothing so far...would love to know their side of the story! My side is: paid them over 200 quid and have a boot cover only so far :tomato:
