My Volvo 480 Turbo

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

My L Reg Volvo 480 Turbo, which after all this work could still do with two new rear arches if any one knows where I could get some.

Could also do with new front lights :P

Nice to see another 480 that (presumably) came from the same dealership as mine-the same final two letters of the numberplate.

Good luck sorting the arches out. I believe if you do a search you will find that the front arches from 440/460 can be made to fit the rear of the 480 (swapped diagonally across the car) and these are much more common.

Nice one!

with rear arches you have to be creative - VW Golf III, Ford Fiesta arches all have been done on 480.

ATS wheels rare sight on 480 - me likes :hopping:

Keep up good work!

Is it the driving lights you need? Cannot help with the spoiler, but I think the lamps are in good fettle - pm me if needs be. Ken

Are they ATS cups? Very popular with the VAG squad, I've always liked the idea of some on my 480. Easy to get hold of and as I now know, look good on a 480!

Thanks for the post!

slightly off topic- davey when i was down south i tried steve's new wheels for his polo on my car- they fit but would need spigot rings on the hubs. whereas the cetus (is that right?!) wheels from my car have centrebores too small to fit on the polo even though they have the same 4x100 stud pattern.

I'm going to take a guess that spigot rings are widely available to allow people to fit alternative wheels on your 480

back ON subject. Nice turbo :)

@ captain Slow
I got mine locally for £250 about 2 years ago, previously it had 2 owners who looked after it super well and it has a full Volvo Service history up till its 4 years of standing still (which it drove away from ;) )
And thanks for the tip off on the arches - Need to get them done :)

@ Volviz
Thank you :) Yes my friend done a full respray and refurb on the ATS's :) I love them
Also thank you for the tips on the arches

@ Kenthesweep
I have a drivers one now, just passenger I am after

@ AcidicDavey
Yep they are and they fit on like a glove :)

@ Nick_ovlov
Thank you :)

Currently;
> Knock at the rear left which sounds like the stop of the shock which is driving me crazy, need to get that sorted
> Missing light
> Yesterday the alternator packed in :(
> The dash lights have most died so need to crack that out and put new ones in
> Need to fix the loom as ages ago this car nearly went up in flames when the loom behind the ECU set on fire it has been botched for a year now with me meaning to fix it only thing that still isn't fixed from that is the heated seats (which caused the issue)
> And a slight knocking in the passenger door but that is the strap that stops the door from closing on you has ripped off the inside of the door, common issue, second set of doors I have had on this car and they done it as well, so that is banging.

but I love my Volvo and just want to get it all sorted.

New radiator sorted!
But discovered my intercooler is potentially leaking - Anyone know where I can get one? Or if Volvo still do them? Rough price?
Has anyone on here fit a none standard I/c?
