cabriolet 480 on ebay worth a look .

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Looks quite good in the metal as well and has been kept in their showroom. I called in there a few months ago to see if they could service my 480 plus a fair amount of replacement parts (brakes, exhaust etc) but they weren't interested in the work unless they supplied all of the parts themselves. Fair enough I suppose - long term business now with AR Mills who were much more accommodating.

Such a shame they never made production.

Well, maybe it is....
But it is really a one of a kind opportunity, if youre a lover of the 480, to own this must be worth something.
Some Dutchmen are going crazy now..... even thinking of selling children to own that 480

Oddly enough, after about 18 months of living in Streatham and 6 months of Volvo 480 ownership, on the very day I moved out of London a man stopped outside my house while I was loading the car up.

He said "you don't see many of these on the road these days" and went on to tell me he'd helped to design the cabriolet version, but it never made it to production because they couldn't make the sills strong enough - despite the appearance, there wasn't enough space between the seats and the edge of the car.

I didn't ask his name being as I was 10 minutes away from leaving the area for good, but he was a tall bloke with white hair and a beard and he lives around the corner from Conyers Road in Streatham, if anyone's curious.

Hello everyone, by the way - this is my first post on here, although I have lots of basic questions about ECUs and suchlike to ask...

Cheers,
Drew
Owner of a 1991 Volvo 480ES.
