2011 secret santa competition - we have a winner

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Not much love for this thread

English isn't my native so I can't get what acronym is bearbox

Enjoy

Volvo 480 turbo, manufacture year ’88.

We have this beautiful, lovely Volvo 480 for sale. It is in fantastic condition and has been beaten up with no mercy. This eye-catcher is true testimony for unbelievably cheap classic sports coupe witch for the last 20 years has only covered 14000 miles, a credit goes to it’s owners who refused to scrap it but continued to pure money in it while car was sitting at various work shops all over the country most of it’s life.

THIS CAR IS IN EXCEPENAL CONDITION AND I BELIEVE THERE ARE FEW LEFT IN THIS CONDITION.
THIS CAR WAS OFTEN OVER LOOKED IN THE 90'S WITH MOST PEOPLE FAVOURING THE 205 GTI, Golf GTI and RS Escorts. FOR THOSE THAT KNOW THIS CAR WAS NO MATCH FOR THESE HOT HATCH'S AND ARGUABLY MUCH MUCH BETTER.

This finest example of Volvo engineering which is fully loaded with 100% defective world famous French and Dutch mechanical and electrical engineering. Featuring more than a 100 electric gremlins – starting with faulty and misleading INFO CENTRE to self deactivating ignition module witch will cut off just when you need it most – while on a road with pregnant other half to hospital or on Friday evenings on M6 when there is only one open traffic lane cause others are being repaved.

Equipped with battery surprise draining function – will fully drain even a new battery in less than few hours when expected least!!!

Interior is with leather trim, seats which will set themselves on fire whenever you turn seat heating on, electric windows, left one will fall down in abyss just when you are entering Nurburgring track, electric mirrors which prefer manual adjustment from outside cause of failed plastic gears...... much more to list.

Also having super disco self bouncing, never to know which will open or not one of a kind true 80’s style POP UP LIGHTS...

Factory unlimited time warranty for LEAKING REAR CLUSTERS, which leads to extra you will not find in any other factory manufactured vehicle only seen on hundred thousand worth custom cars – pool in boot!!!!!!!!! If you are lucky enought and survive travel with 480 to north countries and get flat tire...you could find in frozen spare wheel with artistic ice decoration – isn’t this MIND BLOWING?

Suspension is as opposite to racing engineering as humanly possible with no way to eliminate body roll, you will have sea sick on every track day or spirited drive evening – ideal for unwanted friends or mothers in law!

Never working self jaming, brake pad and disc self cooking - hand brake for no extra cost.

For still skeptical advert readers – if you don’t have an welding equipment this is ideal car for you – expect huge bill from body repair shop, ALL rear end needs re-welding with NO REAPIR PANELS AVAILABLE. Perfect way to spend hardly earned vacation money or even better – buy welding equipment and spend all vacation and weekends on driveway!!

DUE TO THE AGE OF THIS CAR I CAN GIVE DOUBLE REFUND WARRANTY THAT THIS CAR WILL BREAK DOWN PERMANENTLY WITHIN 50 MILES.

VIEWING HIGHLY RECOMMENDED,YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

EDWARD; PART/EX - No chance you will find anything as thrilling to repair in the whole universe.

Volviz a bearbox is a box for a bear .

I originally mistyped the word gearbox and the word became part of our annual competition ever since.

I thought of the following line, even wrote it as a draft but never got round to completing it:

''Please note that this 480 is too light to tow a horsebox, or indeed a bearbox if you're looking to buy from a country with bears.''

Sorry for being rubbish&never getting round to it, 'appy christmas,
