Blank part of N/A guage

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Blank part of N/A guage

Post by Captain Slow » Sun Apr 10, 2011 9:37 pm

I've gotta come out and admit it. I'm a closet guage fan. The oil pressure guage in particular is a great source of entertainment/joy for me.

Since there is no turbo boost guage on the auxliary guages of the N/A 480, I was wondering if anyone had put something in the blank, if so, what?

No-one?

I'm thinking transmission oil temperature or pressure would be the most useful, but cabin temperature the simplest install. Then again Ive now looked at how much some guages are and

You could do what I did with my 'S' and fit all three gauges and use the Turbo gauge as an economy gauge . Just run a pipe off the manifold to the back of the turbo gauge . :D

I've always had a hankering to illuminate the Volvo logo on the spare guage, but have not looked into it in any great depth...

... anyone else?

Interesting thought about the turbo guage kev, I'll see if I can find some posts on here

I know that the volvo badge has been illuminated by someone in the past-I read it here somewhere.

You can put also economizer from 440/460 as the filling of blank place :)

Thats a lovely looking install BDB. Trouble is I've never seen a 440 in this country with one. Interesting also to note that you have a european guage with bar on the oil pressure, not psi as we have.
