So whos bought M427 TFC then, mine and Roo's old Turbo?

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Post by catgroom » Tue Jul 13, 2010 4:47 pm

Hellooo to many old and loads of new people!

Used to be a bit of a regular on here for years, owning an ES and 3 Turbos over about 5 yrs.

Anyway,Roo from here recently sold "The Charger",the white 94 Turbo Auto I had before him,to a guy I think whos name is Mark.Hes in North Lincolnshire.
He said he was going to register on here,Roo informs me,so wanted to use this splendid forum to touch base with Mark and see how my old lady is now.

I hope its being given the lurrrrrve myself then Roo gave her.

Still in an Audi now,a 1984 200 Turbo,which I love to bits.Still remember 480s with fondness though.

Hellooooo Joolz and Hellooooooo to the much ROFLing Jim!

No I left Jackie and Norfolk well and truly behind about 5 years ago.

Naff lass,naff place in Norfolk.
Ive got a house near Stamford,Lincs now and after Cassie the forum mascot passed through cancer in 2006,I was given Barney. He passed at 13 in February.I now have probably the largest Chocolate Lab you will ever see.He has a head the size of a Rottie's and is very tall.So we call him Hobleyhorse! :)
Still grooming yes,not as much as I did.

I take it the guy with Chargers not made himself known here yet then??????

I took on a 1984 Audi 200 Turbo back in February,a 26 yo car in fantastic condition and spotless full leather.Shes had a top end rebuild last month and is rolling roaded at 232 BHP and flies effortlessly up that A1 to the Lakes a few times a year as we love it there.

Hey theres a few 480 fans over on www.classic-audi.co.uk which Im very involved with nowadays.
A really friendly place, who like all types of car.Its a really interesting site just for the variety of pics and stunning photography standards on there too. Many of them are of other models or just life in general.

My fiancee Sally nearly bought The Charger back in Feb but when we went to Roo's (whos only 20 mins away from me now :hopping: ),we couldnt get her to spark.Bugger!

I'll have another 480T one day,I know I will.I wouldnt want to put much mileage on her though,so would be cossetted, and garaged.

Your right Mr Brasco, my TDi, goes like stink

We have bought a house & get the keys in 3 weeks so i punted my MR2 to free up some cash towards the deposit. We are also expecting a Mini-Murf in a few months time so i needed something with back seats that was a practical family car....... so i decided to get a Coupe
I'll let you know if i still feel the love for it after i have changed the clutch next Saturday! Have to say though, the sound off the 5Cyl turbo engine is simply incredible, even with a stock exhaust. I can also confirm that it is pretty nippy

Sorry to butt-in the conversation, that Mr2 of yours was great Murf, I would love to build myself one of those with a rev 3 engine. It must have been great fun.

Yeah, it was a riot to drive! I hardly used it though so it seemed a waste to keep it doing nothing.
They are not too difficult to build, the toughest bit is finding a mk1 thats not rotten right through! Deffo look for a jap import to use as a donor.

Yeah looked a blinder Paul, and I know you took Roopert out in it and he said it was classic WTFage!!!

So the owner up in North Lincolnshire who has my old "The Charger" is not surfacing as quickly as I had hopeth.Apparently he already has a 2.0 2 Tone.

Think his name is Mark.

Oh well,he'll have a warm surprising thread for him when he gets here, and I dont mean I've PM'd him manlove niether mista :D :hopping:

My current pride and joy,by the way.

Alright Ad?

Hows it going fella???

No Paul its Will's pad.I bought the 200 off him.
Talking of the 200,its dead at the moment due to not starting after fitting a brand new Bosch fuel pump. The old one goes back in tomorrow.Yes,its time to get stoned on fuel again. Its an intank item, bolted in right at the bottom of the tank. Not fun!

So,Im in my other similar Audi for the moment, another 5 pot,but with the 2.3 NF engine, only a 10valver but she does go well. This one has the sunroof and updated teardrop dash too which is miles nicer.

Hey I know Dan still likes 480s as well,I must drag him on,and hopefully Roo.

Glad I had my car when the Richmod was easy to get ahold of.Muahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa :)

And hi to Ad and Ad! Hope you are both doing well.

I saw a 480 in an Edinburgh car park last year and left a note on it cos I thought it was Sally's.

It was! She texted me about it. Sadly I forgot to save her number....
Ally has had to get rid of his I think.
