**ALERT** STOLEN Green 480GT M979 PVS

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Ted you can remove certain parts and get access in under 30s without breaking anything. the rest is "redacted" so not to give ideas to he criminal classes.

Lets be honest if someone really wants to steal your car they will or damage it in the process of trying. Or just vandalise it out of spite and jealousy.

Its only the casual opportunistic thief that you can dissuade.

You can open the rear glass hatch with a coat hanger in less than 15 seconds!

to be fair I think any one scum enough to steal a car will already know that coat hangers open doors. Sorry to hijack - but is there a way to stop this 'trick' working??

There are a number of mechanical devices which increase sexual arousal, particularly in women. Chief among these is the Volvo 480 ;)

Absolutely not!

Got some interesting news for ya too! Just bought a '96 XJ6 (X300) 4.0.

sorry. Couldn't resist! Was only cheap and needed to lift my spirits after damaging Rusty Sterling too! Drove by a bollard and caught the drivers side doors, sill and rear arch! Bit off a mess cos I did the 'B' post in too! Hence the Jag! :D

Lol, I dont blame you wanting to treat yourself to a bit of brit engineering lol! Good consolation treat I think! The X300s are nice creatures, and good old 4l too!

But I hope you do get hold of Vinnie, and all in once piece. Poor lad :(

Modern cars can have dead-locks. When the door is locked the lever is disconnected from the opening system.

There is a far easier and quicker way to break into a 480 without damaging the car than the method on this post... it's distrubingly easy. I had richmann demonstrate it at the Lincoln meet but I won't say how it was done.

Suffice to say, if your 480 has value to you then make sure you get an immobiliser fitted.
