Just wanted to say hello to everyone on the forum. Been an admirer of the Volvo 480 for some time until 6 weeks ago when i finally bought one. Was sold to me with several problems including stuttering while accelerating, a popup bracket damaged and the light being kept upright by a piece of wood, drivers side wing mirror smashed off etc. So straight off I knew alot of my time would be taken by restoring this car to some sort of glory. Slowly but surely have replaced the wing mirror, headlight brackets, sorted the stuttering and going through afew other things. I have to say from all the cars i've ever owned and i've had 20 plus i've never felt the fervour I have for the others like i do the 480. Got my weekend down to cleaning the ICV, setting the headlights correct and afew other minor jobs. Loving it, I will most definitely be keeping the faith.

they can idle really lumpy if the throttle plate is set wrong.people always think its the iac cleaning.on basic idle the stab valve should be closed.
